Library
The library is the heart of any institution and the gateway to providing knowledge. The Smt. Kamala Mehta V.W.A. College of Commerce library is situated on the 3rd floor of the college building. It has more than 4000 books including reference books, subject books, textbooks (junior and degree), religious, historical, competitive exam books (UGC NET, Banking exam, UPSC and MPSC), and fictional books. The library is partially automated with library software eGranthalaya and supported by Wi-Fi connection and CCTV cameras. The library regularly subscribes to journals, periodicals, newspapers, and magazines. The students and staff members of the college can access the books directly from the stacks and can browse the books from the computer. To motivate the maximum utilization of library resources, activities are organized every year.
- To inculcate reading habits and more use of reading materials among students/users.
- To make available reading resources to the students/users.
- To provide timely and reliable information required by the users.
- To help students/users with their research/project work.
- Home Landing: The library is issuing every student a book/books for a week on a library card.
- OPAC: Users can search the data on an online public access catalog i.e. OPAC.
- Book Bank Scheme: This service is for regular students of economically weak groups.
- Extended Service: This service is provided to the alumni of the college.
- Information Display: Display of new arrivals and information as per the festivals/days.
- Old exam paper service: The old exam papers are provided for reference.
- Newspaper and Periodical Service: The library subscribes to 4 English, 1 Hindi, and 2 Marathi newspapers and relevant 6 magazines and journals.
- A suggestion box is available for students/users to make suggestions.
- Library Orientation: Orientation is done for new students/users.
